Great Tone, Excellent Vintage Element
Shure Green Bullet Harmonica Microphone
Vintage Shure Controlled Magnetic
Hi-Z 99A86 GB element 1993
Fully Tested and Working
Here’s rebuilt Vintage Shure Model 520D harp mic, with an excellent, high-impedance, strong, vintage Shure controlled magnetic element. I’ve fully rewired the mic. The New connector is a Switchcraft 5/8” screw-on model. The paint is good, with minor chips and scuffs, so keep that in mind. The mic shell is 50 years old or so. The painted grill is in rough condition with some paint loss. Tin tag is totally bare of any writing.
Everyone has a personal taste about how a microphone sounds. To my ears, this element is strong, with a nice, bluesy tone. It’s pretty dirty when cupped tightly, but crisp and clear when open.
The new transducer gasket is from Blows Me Away productions, and seals the shell casing for the best response from the element.
Cosmetic condition includes scuffs and scratches to the original green shell coat. Make sure to closely view the photographs! A solid workingman's version of the Shure 520 series mics.
The microphone has been fully tested on a Skip Simmons modified Masco MA-17 P.A. amp head driving a twin-ten cabinet with Lil’ Buddy speakers. Sounds excellent. Ready for the stage.
