Original Brown Finish
High-Impedance Harmonica Microphone
Vintage 1956 Shure Controlled Reluctance
99H86 631 element
Fully Tested and Working
A beautiful Astatic JT-30 in average cosmetic condition. It’s newly rewired, with a Switchcraft cable connector, new element gasket, and a great-sounding Controlled-reluctance element from 1956. I’ve also added a dual windscreen behind the grill featuring marine-grade stainless steel mesh and white nylon cloth.
Tone-wise, this mic is dirty throughout the range and has great distortion. Better than any of the new harp mics available today.
This vintage CR element sound is what’s important, and it howls!
The mic features:
– Strong 1956 Shure 99H86 631 element
– Original Light Brown Paint
– Switchcraft 5/8” screw-on connector
– 1048 Ohms, Strong element
– Custom stainless steel mesh
– JT-30 B-series #346101
Average cosmetic condition, rough, but great karma.
The mic has been tested on a Mission Chicago 30 watt amp, and on a lovely little Kalamazoo Model Two amp. It performs great on both.
