A 85 year-old Astatic Model 30 in reasonably good cosmetic condition. Chipped and scratched original paint, but beautiful anyhow. This is a pretty hard-to-find Youngstown Y-series shell, before Astatic moved to Conneaut Ohio, meaning it was produced around 1935.

This element is fantastic. Loud, really strong, with great distortion when cupped. It was kind of shocking how good this element sounded when I cranked up my amps and played this mic. An awesome CM element vintage ballsy sound. It howls!

Inside it’s newly rewired, with new element gasket, volume control, premium VC knob, and a great-sounding Controlled-magnetic element from 1969.
