Fully Tested and Working

A beautiful 1940’s Astatic W-30 in good original cosmetic condition, with a few scratches and paint chips. It’s newly rewired, with a Switchcraft cable connector, new element gasket, and a really great-sounding Controlled-magnetic element from 1966. I’ve also added a dual windscreen behind the grill featuring marine-grade stainless steel mesh and black nylon cloth.

Tone-wise, this mic really rips. Great distortion when tightly cupped, wonderful note reproduction when played straight. I’d put this mic against the best I’ve built. Far better than any of the new Green Bullet or Blues Blaster harp mics available today.

This vintage CM element sound is what’s important, and it howls!

The mic features:
– Strong 1966 Shure 99A86 FG element
– Original Brown Paint
– Original Astatic Conneaut tin tag
– Switchcraft 5/8” screw-on connector
– 1022 Ohms, Strong element
– Custom stainless steel mesh

Good cosmetic condition, A few significant Scratches and chips as Pictured, and a few nicks and scuffs on the grill. Great vintage look.

The mic has been tested on a Mission Chicago 30 watt amp, and on a lovely little Kalamazoo Model Two amp. It performs great on both.
