High-Impedance Harmonica Microphone
Vintage 1953 Shure Controlled Reluctance
Black Label 99G86 306 element
Fully Tested and Working
Super hard to find chrome shell with rough but cool patina. This was originally a Shure Crystal Model 9813B. It’s the small shell size, which is about 1/4” smaller diameter than a standard Green Bullet. This mic has the original Chicago “Specifically Designed For Recording” tin tag.
The smaller diameter is good if you have smaller hands, and it’s very easy to cup.
Inside it has been rewired, with a Switchcraft screw-on cable connector, new element gasket, and a great-sounding Shure Controlled-Magnetic element from1953.
Tone-wise, this mic is bright, and strong, with excellent honk when cupped hard. Better sound than any of the new harp mics available today.
The mic features:
– Strong Black Label element
– 1953 Shure 99G86 306
– Switchcraft 5/8” screw-on connector
– Rough cosmetics
– Excellent tone
So if you want that vintage mojo, and are less concerned with looks, more interested in great tone, then this mic is right for you.
