Fully Tested and Working

Here’s rebuilt 1960’s Vintage Shure Model 520 harp mic. Original Evanston tag, in excellent shape. This mic features a 1966 controlled-magnetic element. It’s high-impedance, and strong. I’ve fully rewired the mic. The new connector is a Switchcraft 5/8” screw-on model. The Harley Red Pearl powder is fresh and flawless. The mic shell is 50 years old or so. The brushed chrome grill is in great original condition, though there are some very faint stains.

Everyone has a personal taste about how a microphone sounds. Controlled Magnetic elements are sought after for their fat-bottomed bluesy tone. It’s very dirty when cupped tightly, but crisp and clear when open..

The microphone has been fully tested on a Skip Simmons modified Lafayette P.A. amp head driving a twin-ten cabinet with Lil’ Buddy speakers. Sounds excellent. Ready for the stage.
