Great White Label Tone, Excellent Vintage Element
Full Custom Shure Green Bullet Harmonica Microphone
Vintage Shure Controlled Reluctance
Hi-Z 99H86 629 element 1956
Fully Tested and Working
Here’s rebuilt 1950's Vintage Shure Model 520 harp mic. Original Evanston tag, in pretty good shape. This mic features a 1956 White Label controlled-reluctance element. It's high-impedance, and strong. I’ve fully rewired the mic. The New connector is a Switchcraft 5/8” screw-on model. Black Harley Davidson Pearl powder coat with white powder grill. The mic shell is 50 years old or so.
Everyone has a personal taste about how a microphone sounds. White Label elements are sought after for their fat-bottomed bluesy tone. It’s very dirty when cupped tightly, but crisp and clear when open.
Make sure to closely view the photographs! A great early version of the Shure 520 series mics.
The microphone has been fully tested on a Skip Simmons modified Masco MA-17 P.A. amp head driving a twin-ten cabinet with Lil’ Buddy speakers. Sounds excellent. Ready for the stage.
