1960’s High-Impedance Harmonica Microphone
Fresh Paint, Great Element
1958 Shure 99A86
Fully Tested and Working
Here’s rebuilt Vintage Astatic Model 30 harp mic, with an excellent, strong, vintage Shure controlled element from the 1950s. The connector is a Switchcraft 5/8” screw-on model. The paint is Brownish Grey with Chrome grill. Nice tin tag from Youngstown, meaning the shell is likely from the 1940's. Good condition considering the mic is 50 years old or so.
This element is strong, with a nice distortion throughout, and excellent Bass tone.
The microphone has been fully tested on a Skip Simmons modified Masco MA-17 P.A. amp head driving a twin-ten cabinet with Lil’ Buddy speakers. Sounds excellent. Ready for the stage.
