Fully rebuilt, this Blues Blaster, Hohner’s version of the vintage JT-30 mic, has a strong 1990 Shure Controlled Magnetic element inside. This is a wonderful improvement to the stock crystal that usually comes with the BB. Nice gritty tone. Breaks up nicely on the lows when cupped, bright and crisp when open.
This microphone has been fully rewired, and a new, properly configured, Alpha potentiometer has been installed. The volume control is smooth, and easy to grab with the slotted knob. The custom element gasket is hand-poured by Jeffrey Spoor, the best in the business.
Good cosmetic condition, but there are a few nicks, scratches, and missing paint where the grill meets the shell in the blue finish. Please look carefully at the photographs. There are also two open holes on the grill face which is not common in this model.
The mic has been tested on a Mission Chicago 30 watt amp, and on a lovely little Kalamazoo Model Two amp. It performs great on both.
