This is a rare, vintage, brushed chrome JT-30-style shell, with an original vintage gloss Astatic JT-30 chrome grill. Strong Shure Black Label Controlled Reluctance element. Newly rewired, with a Amphenol (Switchcraft) screw-on cable connector, premium volume control knob, and new JL Spoor element gasket. Fantastic fat-bottomed Black Label Shure Controlled-Reluctance element.
Yes, the Black Label element is the key to this mic. It’s just hard to find such good low-level punch in any of the other Shure elements. Tone-wise, this mic is strong and hot, with great distortion when tightly cupped.
Excellent cosmetic condition, Ballsy tone. This is a vintage shell with minor chrome imperfections, but you have to look very close! Please do.
