Great Tone, Black Label Vintage Element
Shure/RCA Small Shell Bullet Harmonica Microphone
Vintage Shure Controlled Reluctance
1952 Hi-Z 99H86 212 element
Fully Tested and Working
Small shell and black label. I love this mic. Freshly powder coated in Harley Davidson red. I’ve fully rewired the mic, including a volume control with an aluminum knurled knob. The New connector is a Switchcraft 5/8” screw-on model.
Everyone has a personal taste about how a microphone sounds. To my ears, this element is strong, with a nice, bluesy tone. Really excellent bass response that is common to the black label elements. It’s very dirty when cupped tightly, but crisp and clear when open.
The new transducer gasket is from Blows Me Away productions, and seals the shell casing for the best response from the element.
The shell is the small circumference version Shure produced for RCA in the late 1940’s. Cosmetic condition is excellent. Grill is original chrome. Make sure to closely view the photographs! Custom marine-grade stainless steel mesh behind the grill.
The microphone has been fully tested on a Mission Chicago 32-20 amp driving a twin-ten cabinet with Lil’ Buddy speakers. Sounds excellent. Ready for the stage.
