Full Custom Turner 254 Bullet Mic
Hot and Very Gritty
High-Impedance Harmonica Microphone
Vintage 1956 Shure White Label Controlled Reluctance
99H86 610 Element
Fully Tested and Working
A chopped, milled, and gold-pearl powder coated bullet mic head from a classic Turner desk microphone. It’s been beheaded, and milled to reduce the center mohawk rib on the top. This makes the mic a nice small diameter, easy-to-hold, and stage-ready.
I’ve added a Switchcraft 5/8” screw-on connector and volume control for on-stage flexibility. This shell is light, and has a nice chrome grille case and an original Turner 254 badge. Additionally it has a vintage slotted volume control knob for good looks. The element is set in a Blows Me Away custom gasket.
Tone-wise, this mic is Hot and very gritty. It's got great controlled bass distortion when cupped, and clear, crisp tone when open. This CR element sound is what’s important, and it has excellent sound!
The mic features:
– Strong 1566 Shure 99H86 610 element
– All new Powder Coat
– Premium Volume Control Knob
– Switchcraft 5/8” screw-on connector
– 1071 Ohms, Strong element
– All new wiring
Good cosmetic condition, but a few imperfections in the Powder Coat. Look at all the photographs please..
The mic has been tested on a Mission Chicago 30 watt amp, and on a lovely little Kalamazoo Model Two amp. It performs great on both.
