Minor Imperfection on top fin, See Photos!
A chopped, milled, and red pearl powder coated bullet mic head from a classic Turner/Johnson desk microphone. It’s been beheaded, and milled to reduce the center mohawk rib on the top. This makes the mic a nice small diameter, easy-to-hold, and stage-ready.
I’ve added a Switchcraft 5/8” screw-on connector and volume control for on-stage flexibility. This shell is light, and has a nice chrome grille case and Johnson badge. Additionally it has a vintage slotted volume control knob for good looks. The element is set in a new custom gasket.
Tone-wise, this mic is hot and gritty. It’s got great controlled bass distortion when cupped, and clear, crisp tone when open. This CM element sound is what’s important, and it has excellent sound!
The mic features:
– Strong 1977 Shure 99A86 element
– All new Powder Coat
– Premium Volume Control Knob
– Switchcraft 5/8” screw-on connector
– 1038 Ohms, Strong element
– All new wiring
Good cosmetic condition, but a few imperfections in the Powder Coat and along the top of the fin. Look at all the photographs please.
