High-Impedance Harmonica Microphone
Vintage 1956 Shure Controlled Reluctance
99H86 635 element
Fully Tested and Working
This is a very nice original Shure 520D shell that’s been powder-coated, newly rewired, with a new Switchcraft cable connector, premium volume control knob, new element gasket, and a really great-sounding Controlled Reluctance element from 1956. The grill has been freshly chromed with a mirror finish.
The powder coat is a Harley Davidson Pearl White. THERE IS A FINE SCRATCH IN THE FINISH. LOOK AT THE PHOTOS. Not my powder-coaters best work, but still a lovely piece.
Tone-wise, this mic is very strong and hot, with great distortion when tightly cupped. Better than any of the new harp mics available today.
This Shure Controlled Reluctance element has that sought-after honky tone.
The mic features:
– Strong 1956 Shure 99H86 635 CM element
– Integrated Volume Control
– Switchcraft 5/8” screw-on connector
– 1020 Ohms, Strong element
– White Pearl Powder coat with gloss topcoat
– Freshly Chromed Grill
Good cosmetic condition, with one scratch in the powder. Fully tested and working.
