Vintage 1961 Shure Controlled Magnetic
White Label 99H86 119 element
Fully Tested and Working
This microphone is something special. Outstanding power, distortion, and honking tone in this mic. You know how some elements are just better than others? Well this is one of those. So nice I want to keep it myself. And it’s wicked pretty too.
This original Shure 520 has been powder-coated, newly rewired, with a new Switchcraft cable connector, premium volume control knob, new element gasket, and a really great-sounding Controlled-Magnetic element from 1961. The grill has been freshly chromed with a mirror finish. I’ve also added a dual windscreen behind the grill featuring marine-grade stainless steel mesh and white nylon fabric.
Tone-wise, this mic is strong and hot, with great distortion when tightly cupped. Better than any of the new harp mics available today.
This early 60’s CM element has that sought-after crunchy tone.
The mic features:
– Strong 1961 Shure 99H86 119 CM element
– Integrated Volume Control
– Switchcraft 5/8” screw-on connector
– 1008 Ohms, Strong element
– Custom stainless steel mesh
– Honey Pearl Powder coat with gloss topcoat
Excellent cosmetic condition.
