CRACKED SHELL AT SWITCHCRAFT CONNECTOR! This shell cracked a bit when drilling and tapping the mount for the Switchcraft connector. The connection and physical strength is fine, but I wanted to make sure the buyer understands this flaw exists. Take a close look at the photo before purchasing this mic.
A beautiful Small Shell Shure Brown Bullet Freshly Powder coated. Original Chrome Grill. It's newly rewired, with a Switchcraft cable connector, new element gasket, and a really great-sounding Controlled-magnetic element from 1962.
Tone-wise, this mic is hot and crunchy. Better than any of the new harp mics available today liek the Hohner Blues Blaster.
This CM element sound is what’s important, and it howls!
The mic features:
– Strong 1952 Shure 99H86 252 element
– All original paint
– Original Shure Chicago Crystal Badge
– Switchcraft 5/8” screw-on connector
– 1189 Ohms, Strong element
– Custom stainless steel mesh grill screen
– All new wiring
Good cosmetic condition, but a few nicks and scuffs on the paint, and the tone is gritty and awesome.
The mic has been tested on a Mission Chicago 30 watt amp, and on a lovely little Kalamazoo Model Two amp. It performs great on both.
