This is a very nice original Shure 707A that’s been powder-coated, freshly-chromed, and newly rewired, with a new Switchcraft cable connector, premium volume control knob, custom element gasket, and a really great-sounding Black Label Controlled-reluctance element from September 1953. I am the original builder of the mic. Sadly, the original Shure crystal element finally failed and I replaced it with the Black Label.

Tone-wise, this mic has great distortion when cupped, and a bright, loud sound uncupped. Really one of the best I’ve rebuilt. Better than most of the new harp mics available today.

The grill on this baby is bright, excellent condition show-chromed finished. Pay careful attention to the photographs. There are some nicks in the powder coat, and some permanent faint purple areas in the powder too. I did my best to remove them with no luck. You have to look closely to see the flaws. The blue 707A stamped tin tag is in fabulous cosmetic shape.

Looks and sounds simply awesome.
