Nice Dirty Tone! Hot
High-Impedance Harmonica Microphone
Vintage 1955 Shure Controlled Reluctance
99G86 541 element
Fully Tested and Working
This is a chopped, milled, and powder coated bullet mic head from a classic Turner desk microphone. It’s been beheaded, and milled to remove the center mohawk rib on the top. This makes the mic a nice small diameter, easy-to-hold.
I’ve added a Switchcraft 5/8” screw-on connector and a volume control for on-stage flexibility. This shell is lighter than a Shure Green Bullet, and has a nice original chrome grille case. Additionally it has a natural aluminum, grooved volume control knob for good looks.
Tone-wise, this mic is hot and has great controlled distortion when cupped, and clear tone when open. Better than any of the new harp mics available today. This CR element sound is what’s important, and it has excellent tone!
The mic features:
– Strong 1955 Shure 99G86 541 element
– All new Powder Coat
– Premium Volume Control Knob
– Switchcraft 5/8” screw-on connector
– 1055 Ohms, Strong element
– All new wiring
Great cosmetic condition, but a few nicks and scuffs on the grill enclosure.
The mic has been tested on a Mission Chicago 30 watt amp, and on a lovely little Kalamazoo Model Two amp. It performs great on both.
