High-Impedance Harmonica Microphone
Vintage 1958 Shure CM Element
99H86 831 element
Fully Tested and Working
This is a chopped, milled, and powder coated bullet mic from a classic Johnson desk microphone. It’s been beheaded, and milled to remove the center mohawk rib on the top. This makes the mic a nice small diameter, easy-to-hold, and light.
I’ve added a Switchcraft 5/8” screw-on connector and a volume control for on-stage flexibility. This shell weighs 10 ounces, and has a nice brushed chrome grille case and original Chrome Turner.
This 1958 Shure CM element really cranks. Super strong!
The mic features:
– Strong 1958 Shure 99H86 831 element
– Early Controlled Magnetic Model
– All new Powder Coat
– Premium Volume Control Knob
– Switchcraft 5/8” screw-on connector
– All new wiring
– Original brushed chrome grill and faceplate
Excellent cosmetic condition.
The mic has been tested on a Mission Chicago 30 watt amp, and on a lovely little Kalamazoo Model Two amp. It performs great on both.
