Fully Tested and Working
Here’s a lovely vintage Turner CX in brushed chrome. The chrome does have pitting, as seen in the photographs, but I suppose that’s expected after 70 years.
This element is a strong, vintage Shure Controlled Magnetic with nice bass response when tightly cupped, and crisp highs wide open. Ready to gig.
The 5/8” connector is spring-loaded, which is pretty rare, and works well. I’m including a Switchcraft 332A guitar cable adapter. Why? Because when connecting a Switchcraft screw-on connector to this spring-loaded model you have to be careful that you don’t twist the internal wire. It’s easy to make a mistake, and over time the hot wire will fail. Of course if you’re aware, it’s no problem. Be aware.
There are scuffs and scratches to the original brushed-chrome shell exterior, but still looks cool as hell. The riveted tin tag on the rear of the base is worn, but you can still read the details.
