This is a vintage, but brand new, Astatic JT-30VC mic. It’s out of production, and hard to find, especially in black! This mic is entirely stock, and never used except to test the element. These microphones have a great, strong, MC127 ceramic element inside. The tone is hot as hell, just what you expect from a ceramic element. Breaks up nicely on the lows when cupped, Bright and crisp when open.
This microphone is all stock. The volume control is smooth, and easy to grab with the knurled knob.
The included XLR connection uses a cable that is a bit hard to find. The wiring is Pin 3 hot. Most XLR instrument connections have Pin 2 hot. I have reinforced the cable connections with dual wall, adhesive lined shrink tubing. This makes it very strong, and should last for years.
