White Powder Coat, Original Chrome Grill, Volume Control
High-Impedance Harmonica Microphone
Vintage 1972 Shure Controlled Magnetic
99A86 LE element
Fully Tested and Working
I’ve taken a 1950’s Astatic Model 200S, chopped and custom-machined it, and added a Switchcraft 5/8” screw-on connector. Tucked out of the way in the back is an indiscreet volume control knob attached to a premium Vishay potentiometer. I think this a look that gives great control, but doesn’t destroy the beautiful bullet shape.
The entire mic is newly rewired, with a new element gasket. The vintage Shure CM element hails from from 1972. I’ve also added a windscreen behind the grill featuring marine-grade stainless steel mesh and white nylon cloth.
These Astatic 200’s are light and easy to cup. This one has good, hot tone. And it’s cool looking too.
Better than any of the new harp mics available today. Ready to gig!
The mic features:
– Strong 1972 Shure 99A86 LE Controlled Magnetic element
– Original Chrome Grill and screws
– Switchcraft 5/8” screw-on connector
– 1042 Ohms
– Custom stainless steel mesh
– Fresh White Powder coat
Excellent cosmetic condition.
